EL6268 - A good example of the 1796 pattern infantry officer or sergeant's spadroon (1796-1822), by top maker Gill. With excellent copper-alloy ribbed grip covering and original scabbard. Blade of regulation type, plain and undecorated. Hilt quite firm on the tang. Guard of the solid/fixed type. Has the feel of a robust fighting spadroon.
