EL7290 - A late/post-Napoleonic 1796 pattern light cavalry officer's sabre by scarce maker Samuel Mayo (1818-1820), featuring a 33 inch blue and gilt blade. The blade with some of the blue and gilt remaining, but with some pitting in the foible end. The engraving with various motifs and the royal cypher of George III. The blade is firm in the hilt and the hilt is in good condition, with the leather covering intact as well as the copper wire. Attractive facetted pommel and backpiece, with undisturbed tang button. Complete in original scabbard.
