EL7014 - An 1853 pattern cavalry sword, by Mole, in a scabbard by Osborn. The scabbard is a good fit to the blade of the sword, but obviously not original as the sword is marked to Mole and the scabbard Osborn - my suspicion is that the earlier Osborn scabbard is from an 1821 pattern, but it does fit well. Both sword and scabbard are in reasonable condition, including the leather grips, but the outer branch of the guard has been bent during its life, and I dare not try to straighten it because on close inspection there are a couple of stress fractures on the inside bend. It is in one piece now, but I would not advise trying to straighten it. The sword guard carried the regimental SYC designation, which I believe is the Surrey Yeomanry Cavalry. Priced according to the condition.
