Product Details

EL6134 - An 1895 Pattern infantry officer's sword by top maker Pillin. The style of scabbard may indicate Indian service, but the retailer was Flight of Winchester, etched to the ricasso. The proof slug shows that Pillin make the blade. The blade is in very nice condition, bright with most of the original polish and crisp frost etching. It is solid in the hilt and everything is tight. The guard, backstrap and the fittings of the scabbard are all covered with a light brown coating of surface rust, which should be able to be cleaned back up to a good bright level if desired. The shagreen and grip wire are good. This pattern was only made for two years and this is a good quality example.
