EL7000 - A good 19th century Bullova axe from Chota Nagpur, India. These were the traditional everyday weapon of the men of Chota Nagpur, and they come in a wide variety of styles and qualities. This is a fairly high status example, with brass decoration and a finely wrought axe blade. The shaft is hardwood and the axe overall measures 35 inches. There is a bit of movement in the axe blade on the shaft, as is common on these (which could be remedied with a removable wedge). The condition is good and this is one of the nicest quality examples I have had of these.
