Product Details
EL7007 - A mid-Victorian Royal Engineers 1857 pattern officer's sword, marked to the 1st London Engineers, with the officer's initials and crest. The initials are T. J. J. with the motto "Percussus Resurgo". This perhaps relates to the Jordan family, but I have not been able to match this sword to an officer, so more research is required. The retailer is the fairly unusual Batten of Southampton. This is a highly desirable pattern, and this is a great example for having the regimental designation and officer's details. The blade is mostly bright, in need of light cleaning, firm in the hilt. The guard is thick brass, with additional engraving. The grip shagreen and wire is in good condition.
