Product Details
EL7236 - A scarce late-Victorian (1897 pattern) 2nd Gloucester Royal Engineers Volunteers officer's sword, retailed by Hobson and made by Pillin. A quality sword, with extra detailed etching to the blade, incorporating the officer's initials (unresearched). The blade in high polish with crisp etching, just having a few spots of corrosion, firm in the hilt. Note that the tang nut is not the original one, but seems to be holding everything tightly together - ideally this would be replaced with a more authentic looking nut in the longer term. The hilt is otherwise in very good condition, with the VR cypher to the guard and great shagreen and wire. Complete in plated dress scabbard and the original sword knot.
