Product Details

EL6710 - A very rare 5th Princess Louise Dragoon Guards of Canada officer's sword, with George V's cypher. This probably dates the sword to 1910-c.1914, after which cavalry officers were generally adopting the newer 1912 pattern sword. This sword is based on the 1896 pattern, and was made by top maker Pillin, and supplied by Hill Brothers of London, England. Blade in good condition and 35.5 inches long. The hilt is based on the Scinde/scroll pattern, but with the unique regimental emblem incorporated into the guard. The hilt is firm on the tang, the shagreen is very good, though the grip wire is a little loose. Overall condition is good to very good. The scabbard is sadly missing. A very scarce sword.
