EL7140 - A good Austrian M1853 Faschinenmesser (Pioneer Sword) and scabbard. The heavy chopping blade in mostly bright original polish, with just a patch of staining and light pitting, the edge has been well sharpened for use. The wooden grip slabs are secure on the full width exposed tang and as will all of this model, it is an absolute brute in the hand, designed primarily for chopping foliage and secondly as a weapon. The scabbard is complete, other than the missing belt strap loop and the leather covering has come unattached.
