EL7431 - A British Raj Indian Army cavalry troopers' sabre made or supplied by A.D.F.I. & Co of Sialkot. These general type of Indian Cavalry swords, featuring 1821 pattern style 3-bar hilts and 1796 sabre-type 'Paget' blades, were in use from the 1850s and until the end of WW1. This example probably dates to around the 1880s or 1890s. The hilt is firm on the tang, with no movement, and the 31 inch blade has been well service sharpened. The blade with some pitting, but bright, and the hilt in average to good condition, with a ribbed hardwood grip. Housed in a native tulwar style scabbard.
