Product Details

EL7283 - An excellent early Victorian 1821 pattern light cavalry officer's sword by Hawkes, Moseley & Sons, dating to 1837-1845. Blade in pristine condition, with mirror polish and frost etching, firm in the hilt. The hilt also in excellent condition, with a clean and bright guard, back piece and pommel, and the shagreen and wire also in excellent condition. Complete in original steel scabbard, with minimal patina for the age. This type of blade naturally has a fine edge, so it is difficult to tell whether it has been sharpened for service, but I think it has.
