EL7171 - An early Victorian (1837-1845) 1822 pattern infantry officer's sword, of light weight. Featuring a narrow pipe-back blade and quill point, perhaps not quite piquet weight but lighter than normal. The brass hilt with folding drop working well, good shagreen and wire grip. A little bit of movement in the guard and the blade has been polished bright, which has made the minimal etching difficult to see (though this style of blade does not have much etching, unlike later 1845 blades). Complete in matching scabbard, which would benefit from some cleaning.
