EL7273 - A pre-numbered Wilkinson 1846 pattern Royal Navy officer's sword, circa 1850. The bright blade in very good condition, sharpened for service, firm in the hilt. The hilt very good to excellent for the age, and housed in the original scabbard. The sword knot is a more recent replacement. Overall a very good example by the best maker of the day, carried around the period of the Crimean War in 1854 and invasion of China in 1860. Sadly, being pre-numbered, there is no way of finding out who purchased and carried it.
