Product Details
EL7136 - An excellent early George IV 1822 pattern East India Company infantry officer's sword by top maker Prosser. The pipe-back blade is 32 inches long and a little wider and thicker than typical examples of this pattern, which is often the case with the top tier maker Prosser. The escutcheon in the guard carrying the East India Company lion, which is repeated in the etching on the blade. The folding drop section of the guard working well, note the little studs which indicate that this originally had a leather liner to the inside of the guard. The shagreen and wire are all very good and the sword is complete in matching steel scabbard.
