EL7146 - A scarce French senior/superior cavalry officer's sword, made at the state arms factory of Châtellerault (engraved on the blade). There is a date in one of the fullers, but it has been quite polished out and I can only say that I think it might be 1861. The double-edged and multi-fullered thrusting blade signifies a senior officer in the French Army, and it has been service sharpened. The blade is firm in the hilt, with no movement at all, the brass guard and pommel are in great shape, and the horn grip is also excellent. Sadly no scabbard.
