George IV 1821 Pattern Light Cavalry Officer's Sword

ELC1064 - A George IV period 1821 pattern light cavalry officer's sword and scabbard, in reasonable but neglected condition. This sword is ripe for some gentle cleaning and restoration. Fundamentally in reasonable condition, but dirty and uncared for. The shagreen and grip wire is all good, the blade is fairly smooth and with the George IV cypher and crown visible under the grime. The only defect worth mentioning is that the leather washer has gone and this has left the guard with a bit of lateral movement, though the rest of the hilt is firm on the tang. A replacement leather washer could solve this issue to a large degree.
