EL6990 - A Filipino Moro sundang kris sword, c.1880-1900, featuring a pattern-welded double edged blade of 50cm long, being wavy in the first half and almost straight in the second half, with deep fullers. The wooden hilt is secured to the tang with silver bands, and cord bound (some cord loss), with no movement between the blade and the hilt. The high status and quality blade sadly does have quite a bit of rust pitting, especially near the tip, and it would be good to see this restored sympathetically, and perhaps the attractive chevron pattern in the blade enhanced. A good quality kris, priced according to the condition. No scabbard.
