EL6966 - A good late-Victorian Rifles officer's sword, retailed by Silver and made by top maker Thurkle. Dating to 1895-1901, the blade has been well service sharpened, presumably for one of the campaigns near the end of Victoria's reign or soon after. The blade retaining most of its original mirror polish and deep etching, with a few areas of staining here are there, which could be improved with some careful cleaning. The hilt is firm on the tang with no movement and is in good condition, with the original sword knot still intact. Housed in the field service scabbard, with Indian Army style steel mounts.
