EL7199 - A fairly scarce very late-Victorian Rifles officer's sword (dated c.1895-1901) by Anderson of Edinburgh. Featuring the 1892 pattern thrusting blade and 1895 pattern back piece, but carrying the VR cypher of Victoria, this gives quite a narrow date margin. The blade in lovely original mirror finish with frost etching, firm in the hilt, the hilt also in good condition and with the original black sword knot in place. Complete in full dress steel scabbard. Probably for a Scottish regiment considering the outfitter.
