Product Details

EL7068 - The 1845 pattern infantry officer's sword, by Wilkinson, of Captain Applewhaite. Sold by Wilkinson (numbered 26127) on 26 November 1884 to H.H. Applewhaite Esq. - Harry Hanham Applewhaite (1864-1938), was born on 20 March 1864; served as Captain in the 1st Battalion of the Norfolk Regiment. He emigrated to Canada in 1909 and died 29 November 1938 in Nelson, British Columbia. The sword is lacking its scabbard and the brass guard has been a bit dented, but the hilt is firm on the tang, with no movement, and the blade has deep and crisp etching, including the officer's initials HHA. A good Wilkinson example and further research potential.
