Product Details
EL7063 - 1796 pattern light cavalry troopers' sabre, by William Deakin (dated circa 1808-1821). Blade with patina but in quite good condition - edge with a few small nicks (Battle of Waterloo obviously!). The maker's stamp just about visible to the spine. The grip with about 50% of the leather remaining on the wooden grip, but there has been some repair work and 'making good' done there (not by me) to cover the losses to the leather. The hilt is generally firm on the tang, though as if so often the case the leather washer has contracted with age, so there is a little bit of lateral movement in the guard. No scabbard.
