EL7291 - A good Napoleonic 1805 pattern Royal Navy junior or warrant officer's sword. Blade bright, with crisp floral and patriotic engraving, including the Royal Navy anchor. The hilt is in very good to excellent condition, firm on the tang, though due to shrinkage in the leather washer there is a little bit of movement in the guard. The copper alloy guard with detailed knucklebow, in good shape, anchor motif to the langet, with elements of the original gilt remaining. The grip is in excellent condition for the age. Complete with original scabbard, all in one piece, though the end chape is detached and needs gluing back. A really good example, though sadly not with a maker's name that I can see.
