Product Details
EL6960 - An extremely good Victorian 1897 pattern infantry officer's sword (dated 1897-1901), in top condition, by quality maker Thurkle, with the officer's family crest and motto. Thurkle were every much the same top quality as Wilkinson or Pillin, and this is a great example, with the seldom seen on Thurkle registration/proof number (sadly their records don't survive). The crest and motto very well might mean it is possible to find the officer who owned this sword between 1897-1901 and thereafter. The condition on this sword is good enough for a modern serving officer to use for parade purposes, and it is vastly better quality than the modern versions. Complete in chamois leather transport sheath.
