EL7067 - A rare late-Victorian Royal Engineers officer's sword, retailed by Flight and made by WKC of Solingen, featuring an 1892 pattern blade and 1857 pattern hilt. This is an unusual combination, as most Royal Engineers' swords continued to use the 1845 patter cut and thrust blade. With the pre-1895 style back piece, this presumably dates the sword to 1892-1895/96. Very detailed etching, with some unusual features and motifs, the blade mostly bright, with just a couple of areas of pitting, the hilt in very good condition and firm on the tang. Complete in original scabbard (which would benefit from cleaning).
