EL7317 - An excellent and scarce Victorian 1897 pattern Royal Engineer's officer's sword, marked to the 2nd Gloucester Royal Engineers Volunteers (REV), carrying the officer's initials etched on the blade. Dating to 1897-1901. The blade is excellent with bright mirror polish and very crisp frost etching. I have not researched the officer's initials, but it should not be too difficult to work out who this was. Everything solid with no movement in the assembly. The guard brightly nickel plated, with good shagreen and grip wire. Complete in original scabbard, with some corrosion spots here and there.
