EL7036 - A rare Victorian presentation sword by Reeves, circa 1860. Being festooned overall with floral decoration, having a cast and deeply detailed brass guard and backpiece. The blade etching continues the elaborate and intricate floral theme, as well as containing certain emblems which might unlock what and who this presentation sword was created for - more research is required. The blade is firm in the hilt, but there is the tiniest amount of lateral movement in the guard alone. The condition is very good - the brass parts in excellent condition, the steel of the blade with light patina, and the shagreen and wire grip very good. Complete in plain steel scabbard.
