EL7206 - A Victorian 1897 pattern infantry officer's sword (dating to 1897-1901) which has been fully refurbished to modern parade standard by Pooley Sword. The blade bright and firm in the hilt, the hilt and scabbard in mint plating, the shagreen dark and silver grip wire all as new. It is relatively unusual to see Victorian examples fully refurbished like this, they are usually George V examples, which thanks to WW1 are far more numerous. The blade interestingly has been very well service sharpened prior to restoration, so it was presumably carried on campaign, most likely either the Boer War or WW1.
