A nice Rifle Volunteers officer's sword, with brightly plated guard and scabbard, and good well-etched blade (some varnish remaining to be cleaned off). The hilt is a bit loose on the tang and the tang nut has been tampered with - I suspect in an attempt to tighten the hilt. Therefore some relatively straight forward restoration work required, but priced accordingly and otherwise in good condition to a Scottish outfitter.
