Product Details
EL7394 - A good Rifles officer's sword by Mole of Birmingham, retailed by Walter Locke of Calcutta. Presumably for a British Officer serving in India, Locke was a retailer most well known for hunting and military firearms. Probably dating to 1870-1890, this is a good quality sword and Mole was an excellent make - the blade is in very nice condition and clean. The hilt and scabbard have been subjected to some rust, and the scabbard would benefit from cleaning. The shagreen is a bit worn around the edges, which suggests a good amount of service life and carrying, but the grip is otherwise in good condition and all the copper wire intact. Everything is solid and tight.
