Product Details

EL7456 - A scarce East India Company Navy officer's sword, 1827 pattern (1827-1846). Featuring a rod-backed Prosser style blade, with East India Company lion etched above the fouled anchor and other decorative emblems. The blade firm in the hilt. There are some localised areas of rust and light pitting, which would benefit from careful cleaning. The hilt in good condition, with white ray skin grip and copper wire. The folding drop section of the guard working well and stiff. Complete in original scabbard with locket hook for wearing with a cross-belt. Probably dates to the 1830s and is in uncleaned honest condition, and would benefit from some care, but a scarce and complete sword.
