EL7214 - A scarce George V (WW1) era Royal Marines infantry officer's sword, 1897 pattern, retailed by Jones of London. The 32 inch blade in excellent condition, with bright polish and crisp etching, including the Royal Marines designation and emblem. The blade is firm in the hilt with no movement. The hilt is in very good condition generally, with all the plating on the guard (which could easily be buffed up brighter for parade use), the shagreen and grip wire all intact and in good condition. The one imperfection worth mentioning is that there is a tiny bit of corrosion on the back piece, but this could be cleaned off quite easily. Complete in original plated steel full dress scabbard.
