EL6674 - A very good and fresh to the market US M1860 cavalry saber by Mansfield and Lamb, dated to 1864 and service sharpened. This came from a house attic and is a great example of an untouched but good condition US Civil War cavalry sword. The edge, although not really sharp now, shows the old marks of service sharpening, and given the date of 1864 this was almost certainly carried towards the end of the US Civil War. The hilt is firm on the tang with no movement, the blade mostly bright still, the brass guard also in good condition with aged patina, and the leather of the grip also good with some wear. The grip wire is also all intact. Complete with original scabbard. A really good example by a desirable maker.
