EL6945 - A good mid-Victorian Rifles officer's sword retailed by Smallpage (probably Solingen made), featuring a silver-plated hilt and scabbard. We can tell that the hilt and scabbard are silver or silver-alloy plated because of the colour of the tarnish - I have left this as is to demonstrate this point, but they would polish up to a mirror finish easily. The blade is also bright and clean, with crisp etching. The shagreen and grip wire are excellent and everything is tight. One very remarkable thing about this example, aside from the plating, is the extreme light weight for the pattern, being just over 600g, and very noticeably lighter than typical examples.
