Product Details
EL7019 - A mid-Victorian 1845 pattern infantry officer or sergeant's sword. I cannot tell whether this is an officer's sword or a sergeant's, because while it has a plain un-etched 1845 pattern Wilkinson style blade, and there is no proof slug, the hilt looks more like an officer's, with folding drop section. This being said, I think it is a sergeant's sword, possibly for militia and privately ordered for the regiment (hence no BO/WD stamps). The sword is overall in good condition, quite bright and clean, with a good grip and guard, but there is a little bit of movement in the hilt assembly and the tip has been shorted to 31 inches (or was this made this length because it was for a sergeant? I cannot tell). No scabbard.
