EL6970 - A late-Victorian 1897 pattern infantry officer's sword (dating to 1897-1901) by Pillin. Retailed by a London maker, the etching of the blade is somewhat rubbed, though still clear in areas, and the blade is mostly quite bright and should restore well. The guard, very unusually, is silver-plated, and the hilt is firm on the tang, with the whole hilt being in quite good condition, with very good shagreen and silver wire to the grip. No scabbard.
