Product Details

EL6651 - A good light cavalry officer's sword retailed by Gardiner & Co, and made by Pillin, to a named officer. The blade carries a crest, motto and the officer's initials, identifying the sword to John Skipwith Herbert Fullerton. Fullerton was in the 1st West Yorkshire Yeomanry Cavalry in the late 1880s and 1890s. He had previously been in the 3rd Battalion of the Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers. He retired as a Lieut-Colonel and died in 1940. The etching is very detailed and high quality, and the blade condition is very good, and firm in the hilt. The hilt is also in good condition, but with dark patina, and all the grip wire has been removed. Complete with scabbard.
