EL6576 - A mid-Victorian Royal Artillery officer's piquet weight sword, with initials (JDS?) and crest/motto to the blade. A nice example of a piquet weight sword, with initials, crest and motto that should make it possible to identify the officer with some research. There is a slight bend to one of the guard branches, but otherwise the sword is in good uncleaned condition, with a bright blade and detailed etching. A nice research project and good display sword.
