Product Details

EL7266 - A 'Royal Rifles' officer's sword, retailed by Anderson & Sons of London, circa 1860-1880. The designation of 'Royal Rifles' is believed to refer to the reserve battalion of the King's Royal Rifle Corps, which makes this relatively scarce. The condition is overall good, though it would benefit from a clean up, but basically the blade is bright and with crisp etching. Firm in the hilt with no movement, though I can see that the tang peen has been tightened at some point in the sword's past. There are a few small dings in the edge. Complete with matching scabbard and it sheathes well.
