EL7130 - A WW1 era George V 1897 pattern Royal Engineers officer's sword. Retailed by Groves of Woolwich (where the Royal Engineers college was), with a serial number to the spine, maker unknown. The guard with some wear, the shagreen quite good, but a few loose strands of the grip wire which need tidying up. The hilt is firm on the tang with no movement. The blade is very good, bright with just a few spots of patina, and crisp etching. Complete with field service scabbard.
