EL7267 - A WW1 era George V Wilkinson 1897 pattern infantry officer's sword, service sharpened for the Great War. Numbered 48609, this sword has not been researched, but it has clearly been well and tidily sharpened. The blade is a mixture of bright original polish and etching, with patches of patina and a little corrosion in places. It would benefit from careful restoration. The hilt is bare steel, with patina, the grip shagreen and wire good - everything solid with no movement. Complete in field service scabbard.
