EL7096 - WW1 era George V 1897 pattern infantry officer's sword, retailed by Ranken of London and Calcutta. A good quality sword, possibly made for an officer of the Indian Army (Ranken were a major supplier). The blade clean with deep etching and bright, firm in the hilt. The hilt could do with a clean up and there are a couple of strands of the grip wire loose, but the shagreen is good and dark. The original sword knot is in place. Field service scabbard in good condition.
