Product Details
EL7059 - A good Wilkinson 1845 pattern infantry officer's sword, dating to c.1854-1860. Strangely, the number on the spine and the Henry Wilkinson name on the ricasso has been deliberately removed - one can only guess why. But we know it is Wilkinson from the proof disc. The sword has been extensively service sharpened, and having the folding guard section dates to before c.1860, so this was was presumably carried on campaign in the era of the Crimean War and Indian Mutiny. The blade is bright, with deep etching and firm in the hilt, with no movement. The hilt is in good condition, and the sword is complete with its scabbard.
