Problems Using the Website or Store?

I am aware that a few people have had technical problems loading or paying through the store on this website. This is usually due to using an old browser or operating system. If possible, I recommend using Google Chrome to access the website (it's a free download). Refresh the page if nothing is showing, and make sure you have the latest version of your browser downloaded.

Shipping Charges

International shipping charges fluctuate due to a variety of factors and I change the charges on the website accordingly. These reflect what it costs me to get a package to you, there is no profit built in. Prices shown below (Jan 2024 prices) get added when you are purchasing through the website checkout.

Austria: Austrian post will not allow swords in its network. I can post items to Austria with special couriers, but this must be quoted at cost. Please contact me directly if you are an Austrian customer.

Certain other countries do not allow the unregulated import of edged weapons or antiques. Please check your own country and state's laws before purchasing through this website. If your Customs won't allow the package through for legal reasons, then while I can refund the item (minus the Paypal charges), I cannot refund the shipping cost incurred.

All imports will be liable for the payment of taxes and charges at the customer's end (not for UK customers of course). These taxes and charges vary by country. Packages are coded and labelled as antique where applicable, which means no VAT is due in some countries and a reduced VAT in other countries (eg. for antiques France is 5.5%, Italy is 10%, Germany is 7%, USA is 0%).

Problems Paying Online?

Anybody with a bank card can pay through the website - you do not need a PayPal account.

If you have any issues paying through the website, then drop me an email at eastonantiquearms@gmail.com - It might be that for some reason PayPal is not working properly for you (although you do not need a Paypal account to pay through PayPal on this website). Or you may want to pay through another means, such as UK bank transfer, cash in person etc. (I cannot take cheques though).

Want More Info About An Item?

This is no problem; if there is something more you need to know about an item then just email me at eastonantiquearms@gmail.com

I endeavor to put as many detailed photos up as is possible and my descriptions are probably among the most detailed and honest you will find in the trade. If something is rusty or loose then I try to show and describe it.

However, it's rarely possible to describe absolutely everything and I completely understand that sometimes people have a specific question that needs answering.

PLEASE BE AWARE though that items can still be sold through the website to another person during this time, but I will do my best to get back to you as quickly as possible.

Reserving Items & Paying in Installments

Items sometimes sell very quickly from my website, so the stock changes rapidly. Please accept therefore that if you email questions about an item, it may sell in the meantime.

I am happy to hold or reserve items for up to one week, with a 10% non-refundable deposit. I cannot otherwise hold or reserve items and if you have not paid a deposit then items are available to purchase through the website by other buyers.

On occasion, I do agree to a buyer paying for something in installments, but the bottom value for this is currently £1000 and I don't offer this with all items. This is because it is a lot more administration time for me to deal with these sales. Please email eastonantiquearms@gmail.com to discuss a specific item.

UK Sales & Delivery Of Edged Weapons To Over 18s Only

UK law is clear (Offensive Weapons Act 2019) that objects with sharp or edged/pointed blades (blunts are exempt) must only be sold to over-18s within the UK and can only be posted to residential addresses under certain conditions (which I comply with here).

Therefore, if you are a UK buyer, I must ask for a copy (photo by email to eastonantiquearms@gmail.com) of either a passport or driving licence (or equivalent official document) to prove that you are over-18.

When I post out packages to UK residential addresses, they must be labelled as containing a blade and I use the Parcelforce age verified delivery service, which checks that the recipient is over 18 years old (they may ask for proof if it is not obvious).

If you use a business address for delivery then this is not an issue, as the law only applies to residential addresses, but I still ask for proof of age at the point of sale.

Buying from Easton Antique Arms Ltd Through PayPal

The store on this website is linked up to Easton Antique Arms Ltd's PayPal account. You do not need a PayPal account to pay through PayPal this way - you can input your card details and PayPal will take care of the rest.

However, I understand that in some cases a person might want to pay in a different way, such as with cash on collection or by direct UK bank transfer. This is fine - just email me and we will arrange the details.

More info about Postage/Shipping

Items are sent tracked and recorded from the UK, usually with Parcelforce. I have sent thousands of items this way and never had any lost so far.

UK deliveries are sent with the Age Verified service, to comply with the 2019 laws, so proof of age will be required both when you buy (emailed to me) and when it is delivered to your door.

I am able to ship packages a couple of times each week (not every day) and when they are sent you will receive a tracking number through PayPal, attached to your transaction, as well as an email notification from this website. Please note that dispatch times will vary slightly, according to when you place the order in relation to when the next shipment is being dispatched.

Items are packed securely in bubble wrap and cardboard, with any exposed points being taped to a solid object to make them safe for transit.

Refunds

Refunds are only given in exceptional circumstances. Items here are purchased as seen, and are of course 'second hand', used and old, with associated wear and tear. I endeavor to describe as many imperfections as possible in item descriptions.

In some unusual cases I might decide to cancel a transaction (for example, if a person does not provide a valid delivery address, or if a UK purchaser does not provide proof of age) and refund the payment.

If a refund is required for some reason, then please note that we cannot refund the shipping costs or the PayPal fees (which due to a change in PayPal's policies are now unfortunately non-refundable). The amount that you receive back will therefore be less than the amount you paid, because it will not include the unrecoverable costs and fees.

General Terms & Conditions

Please remember that a payment must cleared before I will post the item.

UK buyers MUST send me proof of age before I can post out an item, but once you have proven you are over-18, you will not have to do it again with future purchases.

Items listed on this website are all to the best of my knowledge genuine antique/vintage items, unless explicitly otherwise stated as replica or modern.

Items bought from me are "as seen". I will attempt to describe as many of the imperfections as possible and show them in the photos, but I will not accept returns unless you feel that the product is drastically different to the description and photos.

You will find my descriptions more accurate and comprehensive than most auction catalogues and most dealers.

If you have doubts or questions about an item then I encourage you to ask me before purchasing. I will be honest.

If you want to sell or trade something, then please feel free to get in touch. Part exchanges are not out of the question and I am always willing to consider offers.

If you have something I'm interested in then I may be willing to travel to you if you are not too far away, which reduces some of your hassle and expense.

I am not responsible for what people do with their antiques once they receive them. I assume that buyers are sensible, law-abiding and sane. If I have reason to suspect otherwise then I may cancel or refuse a sale.
